With a magnifying glass and tape measure in hand the 4th graders investigated the Sukkah in school to determine if it is a kosher sukkah. They measured the walls, checked the schach, decorations and the placement of the sukah. After close inspection they determined that it is in fact a kosher sukkah and we will enjoy sitting in it next week. We discussed different scenarios and based on our knowledge of Halacha discussed what one should do if it starts to rain on Chag, if the schach or a decoration falls down on Yom Tov, what types of foods must be eaten in the sukkah, etc. The 4th grade investigative team is now ready for Chag Sukkot!
